The Giver series is a very well written series. It’s by Lois Lowry she is a very great author, there are four books The Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, and Son.

The Giver is about this boy who has a gift and there is this baby who also has this gift and when the boy finds out that the baby is going to be released ( killed ) because these people cannot find a home for the baby, so the boy takes the baby and runs away.

Gathering Blue is about this girl who has a leg that is crippled, and cannot walk very well, she also has a gift of sewing. Her mother and her father supposedly died and these people that are called council members that order her to live in the big council hall. She has to fix a robe that is very important and she meets this boy and this girl. The boy has a carving gift, and the girl has a singing gift. Her friend went on an adventure and was looking for the color blue because kira adored blue but he brought someone special to kira instead. This person wants her to come with him back to his village but she can’t because she needs to find out who killed her mother and father.

Messenger is about this boy who has a gift, but I can’t describe it and so this boy lives with this blind man who has a daughter that the boy needs to get. He goes and finds her and the forest is closing so they need to hurry, the forest tries to kill them and the boy uses his gift to save the forest and the village. His gift uses up too much strength, and he dies.

Son is about this girl who is named Claire who has a baby and has trouble delivering him, when she finds out she had trouble delivering him she is very worried and cannot have any more products ( kids), where she lives the products go to different families and the birth mothers cannot ever see their children or know their names or what their gender is. The council calls her and tells her she has to quit being a birth mother and she has to become a fish hatchery person, they accidently told her, her baby was a boy product and what is birth number was.She tries to see him every day but he disappears. She goes on a boat and the boat gets in a bad storm and sinks, these people pull her out of the water and the village calls her water. Claire and the village is surrounded by a big rock cliff. She has lost her memory but is getting little bits and pieces of it back, she gets the memory of her son back and trains to climb the cliff she gets stronger and stronger. After she climbs the cliff she was told a man would come and if she wanted help she would have to trade and pay a price for him to help her to find her son. The first thing he asked for was her hair and she said no not a fair trade then he said no matter what you cannot turn this trade down. Then he went up to her ear and said in a creepy voice “ I want your youth” she said deal. He started walking and Claire felt so slow she tripped and saw a strand of grey hair and the man said get up you old hag. the book goes to her son and is talking about him. He is building a boat and Claire watches him in a clearing on the edge of the woods. It goes back to Claire, she gets ready for a picnic and she is eating and see’s her son.

Final This is all I can tell you because I would like you to read these books and find out what happens at the end.I hope you can find the connection of these books, I did and am so happy reading. These books are great and I hope you read them they are very interesting and I hope you find them as interesting as I did. I would give these books a five star rating Thank you for reading my review.
